Success Is a Choice

The Decisions That Determine Who You Become

You do not choose every circumstance. You choose what you do next. Jim Copell's keynote turns a lifetime of adversity, ambition, ethics, instinct, and ownership into a simple challenge: make the choices that move you toward the best of what you can see.

The Big Idea

Success is not one decision.
It is a pattern of choices.

Trust yourself. Keep your word. Decide what adversity will make of you. Learn to think like an owner. And when you finally see what you might become, choose to walk toward it.

The choices that shape a life.

The keynote is built around six decisions that connect Jim's personal story to the choices every leader, employee, and rising professional faces.

Choice 01

Choose what you allow yourself to see.

Exposure changes possibility. The world you can imagine often determines the world you are willing to pursue.

Choice 02

Choose to trust yourself.

Facts matter. Judgment matters too. Some of life's defining decisions arrive before certainty does.

Choice 03

Choose your principles before they are tested.

Character becomes visible when keeping your word costs something.

Choice 04

Choose what you do after failure.

You may not control the setback. You control whether it becomes an ending or another chapter.

Choice 05

Choose to think like an owner.

Understand how value is created, where it is destroyed, and how your own decisions affect the enterprise.

Choice 06

Choose who you become.

Success is not only what you accumulate. It is the person your repeated decisions turn you into.
